Maintenance Technician I
Description
The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance duties of a general nature involving the use of carpentry, plumbing, automotive, and electrical skills. The maintenance technician will operate independently on repairs and projects as requested by supervisor.Ìý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and facilities as requested by supervisor.
- Assist in preventive maintenance tasks.
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and data as needed.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain emergency call rotation.
- May be required to work overtime.

Qualifications
- General knowledge and good working skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
- Skill in the proper use of hand tools.
- Skill in the proper use of power tools.
- Skill in the use of shop tools such as table saw, drill press, etc.
- Skill in the use of light equipment such as trencher, tamper, etc.
- Ability to work under the authority of supervisor as well under the authority of other skilled craftsman.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stoop, crawl, and work in tight, cramped spaces.
- Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
- Must show initiative in carrying out assigned tasks.
